What’s New at Machen McChesney - December 2017

Recognition:

Machen McChesney closes out 2017 recognizing a few staff members who have received promotions over this past year.

Tyler Cooper, CPA was promoted to Manager in July 2017. Tyler has 8 years of experience in public accounting and his principal areas are auditing and tax for employee benefit plans, financial services, manufacturing, and city government industries.

Tyler is a graduate of Jacksonville State University with an MBA in Accounting and an undergraduate degree from Auburn University with a B.S. in Accounting.

Stephanie Smith, CPA was promoted to Manager in August 2017. Stephanie has 16 years of public accounting and her specialty areas include individual and corporate tax.

Stephanie is a graduate of Auburn University with a Masters and B.S. in Accounting.

Laura Taber, CPA was promoted to Manager in July 2017. Laura has 6 years of public accounting. Her areas of specialization include accounting & auditing and tax for governmental and nonprofit entities and manufacturing clients.

Laura is a graduate of Auburn University with a Masters and B.S. in Accounting.

Stephen Taunton was promoted to Senior Accountant in July of 2017. Stephen has 3 years of public accounting. His areas of specialization include individual, business, estate, and trust tax compliance. He also has experience auditing governmental and not-for-profit entities.

Stephen is a graduate of Auburn University with a Masters and B.S. in Accounting.

In The Community:

Classroom Blitz: Machen McChesney participated in the classroom blitz where several accountants went to various high schools in the community and surrounding area to present career opportunities that accounting could offer as a career choice to students.

Machen McChesney was a sponsor of the Salvation Army's Angel Tree program.

Machen McChesney and staff supported the Salvation Army by volunteering for their bell ringer program.
