Payroll Manager

Position Purpose

The Payroll Processor’s primary responsibility is the processing of client payrolls and the related payments, as well as the preparation of payroll tax returns.  The Payroll Processor may also assist the bookkeeping staff in data entry, reconciliation, etc. in QuickBooks.

Partner group and Director of Small Business Services

Position Responsibilities

The primary responsibilities of the Payroll Manager are:

  • Develop, document, and manage payroll services
  • Manage core payroll services process improvement
  • Administrate payroll meetings
  • Develop, document, and manage payroll support services
  • Develop new services to meet clients’ needs
  • Oversee marketing plan for FocusPay Solutions(w/marketing coordinator)
  • Actively pursue new business development opportunities.
  • Train Payroll Specialist to actively pursue new business development
  • Plan and oversee Payroll Seminars
  • Disseminate knowledge to firm associates regarding services and payroll laws.
  • Preparation of payrolls with related tax deposits and liability payments
  • Preparation of payroll tax reports and W2 and 1099 forms

  • Familiar with QuickBooks

  • Proficiency in use of computers and ability to learn various computer programs
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel

Measures of Success

The Payroll Processor will be deemed to have been successful when he/she has:

  • Completed the assigned tasks in a timely manner
  • Received positive feedback from his/her clients and supervisors
  • Developed a good working relationship with his/her clients
  • Grows department revenue and customer service level
